Was googling some information on spotify and I came across this by chance on the Denon web-site:

http://www.audioprod...x?pid=AVR2113BK

Interesting to see the cut down number of connections on the back panel!  Heavily reliant on HDMI.

Also supports Spotify.

Very basic looking amp now.  I'd like to think that with the money they saved removing all the additional inputs, it went into better quality power supplies and amp sections.... but... you know

Will be interesting to see how much APG are going to ream the local market this generation too.

There are features being moved to lower models as connections and other functions are being removed, eg AM radio.

I have been following the new models over at AVS Forum.  Worth a look if considering new Denon AVR.  Looks like dual HDMI outputs has moved down to a model I may be able to afford.  Waiting to see Aus pricing.

If it's this one, they're clearly marked as grey imports.  Makes for a pleasant change, as that seller usually implies their gear is local when it's nearly always grey import.

nah, was thinking this bloke (and I thought there was another too, but maybe not)  http://www.ebay.com....=item43b14d49c0  I bought a 3310 off him a few years ago, issued a Just Klapp reciept.

The auaudiovideo certainly has some great deals, and if the warranty is effective, its a good way of buying locally without buying locally.

Grabit sell legit local stuff - gather they started as the online sales of Klapp's Footscray store (does that still exist?).

The other crowd don't always mention warranty details...

Not to be picky, but they mention it under the big WARRANTY section, about 3 paragraphs down :)

EDIT: although the issue with a third party warranty might be Denon AU restricted the supply of spare parts (if required) for an international unit.  I recently had a few questions about Audyssey DSX upgrade I emailed to Denon AU, and I mentioned that I bought it off en authorised eBay seller.  His reply was extremely rude, and told me I bought a grey import, and basically told me to get farked.  I emailed him a copy of the receipt, told him to get farked, and said I wouldnt bother buying a locally distributed Denon product again.

Yes, they've clearly mentioned warranty on that item, but it's not their norm.

As for the local Denon distributors, they're a greedy bunch - completely bend us over on local pricing - agree f*** 'em.  Can only hope that one of the big retailers goes the grey import path like JB did with Nikon (didn't take long for Nikon to suddenly find they could match international pricing).

If the receiver were to fail within the warranty period, I think grey imports such as the Denon AVR2113 would need to be returned to the country of origin rather than AU?

I've been a bit of a fan of Denon for a while. I bought a 1910 a while back. The RRP of these was something like $1399 and at this model point, they have dropped a fair bit. However, in the UK that model was (something like) 250 pounds (quid/english currency :)) at the time of my purchase which was a bit deflating. :pinch:

I bought that 1910 from a dealer and when I registered it on the Denon website, you get upgraded from 1 year warranty to a 3 year which I thought was 'neat'. This registration/warranty option had the local dealers name and address in a drop down box - not free text so there were only some many 'authorized' dealers you could choose when applying for the 3 yr warranty upgrade.

A friend just bought the 2113 and I was around there on the weekend helping him set it up etc. He had some blokes come in and 'set it up' and they had the surround speakers wired up back the front - nice! (i.e. 'surrond back' wired to 'surround' in a 7.1 setup). not sure about the 1 to 3 year registration warranty thing yet though.

Anyway, he got it (receiver only) from Harvey Norman who offered a discount. Not sure how much, but he said it was a good deal.

After going through all the menus and stuff it is a fair upgrade to what I have. The Audyssey auto cal is quicker than my 1910 and has more measuring points. Mine has 6 and we stopped the cal at the 7th point.

It hooked into his network seamlessly and he can easily stream music from his iPhone to the amp which was pretty good too. You know how fiddly/fussy network stuff can be sometimes.....

He has it hooked to Jamo speakers and it sounds great. Haven't heard a BD yet though - just HD DD audio and some MP3s.

The lack of inputs wasn't really an issue since he has all modern gear - phat PS3 (may upgrade it to a slim to get HMDI 1.3), Panasonic 46 plasma, pana BD/HDD recorder and Foxtel IQ2. He streams the video and audio around the house and has remote control points all over the joint too - great setup.

the onscreen display is fantastic. Really easy to use menus in colour. The remote is heaps simpler and easier to use as compared to my 1910 too. The manual is on CD which is slightly irritating although he had it on drop box and the iPad so searching and finding stuff was fine.

cheers, NS
