Yes I do assume James T Kirk is correct. He has insider knowledge, and his posts are consistently concise and credible.

** SIGH **

The glasses will still operate at a maximum of 120Hz, alanh. This is necessary to minimise ghosting with current plasma and LED displays.

You need to go to a public cinema, or a very up-market and expensive home projector, to do better than a 120Hz alternation rate.

And I am not talking about the precision of the duty cycle (which is typically much higher than 120Hz). I am talking about the actual alternation rate between Left and Right.

Please do not bring anything that resembles actual facts into any discussion involving Alanhasnof-ingidea - they only confuse him more.

Well the 3D trial is over. I see the channel is already off the air. What are peoples thoughts?

mmmmm...what are my thoughts, the aspect that is most "top of mind" for me is that despite many reiterations is the fact that some (or one actually) actually believed that the SBS would give up one of their transmitters for a trial that nobody watched! I have seen a photo (site is unknown to me) of a transmitter used for 3D that was not a SBS transmitter.

alanh: 0
person with a camera: 1

I doubt that the sewer of alanh knowledge will clamp itself shut, but I can dream... can't I?
