It’s a rare case of an HDTV which we’d recommend to just about anyone. Film lovers will appreciate the judder-free reproduction of 24fps content from Blu-ray, and the natural and accurate reproduction of colours and grey shades. Video gamers can enjoy very low input lag and ultra-crisp motion rendition, which only a Plasma television can provide simultaneously. What’s more, the motion, as we discussed at length, is more artefact-free than ever before. And everyone will appreciate the ST50′s incredibly deep black level, which, unlike an LED LCD or LCD display, is achieved naturally, without sacrificing brightness.

Some impressive blacks levels as well, 0.009.....

Wow! I had considered grabbing a run-out VT30. Reading that, I think I'd be kicking myself and it  looks like the fruits of the Kuro team are starting to ripen.

Be warned that there are reports springing up that the 2012 models also suffer from screen uniformity issues - as did the 2011 models.

Panasonic just don't seem to be able to get the basics right.

I'm putting my plans of getting a VT50 on hold until I read more about this.

It certainly sounds promising....plus, they look decent, but, I certainly don't want any serious screen uniformity issues, so patience might be in order unless you want to be the forum guinea pig, lol....

Seems to be the TC-P50X1 720p model, I can't find mention of any of the 1080p models. Mind you, I don't read many forums. I also think that some of these problems are really only noticed by people who look for them, I'm not sure I'd even notice unless it was blatantly obvious.

It may also be the case with the P50 (add another one to the list!), but there's posts popping up at HDJ and AVS of the ST50 being plagued by them also.

It was even touched upon in a review posted earlier.

It's there, and it's real, and it's a worry.

can anyone actually see it when viewing REAL content? as opposed to a full-white screen

you can find flaws in anything if you know to manipulate it to show them
and 90% of the time the flaws are outside normal operating conditions

As with the 2011 models, yes.

Particularly on skin tones and greys.

I haven't read any reviews of the GT, as I'm not interested in that model.

No word on the VT as yet, as I don't think it's available to the public just yet.

Sorry, I misundetstood.

Not sure about the ST, as again, I wasn't interested in this model.

But with the GT and VT, yes, they were all affected to varying degrees across NA, Europe and Australasia.
