Looks like im ringing foxtel to cancel after i missed this on the bottom.

"You must have received an email from FOXTEL advising you of this offer in order to be eligible for the free remote"

FMB!! I'm on the phone to India and trying to explain to the prick my remote order and he is saying "why haven't the tech arrived to install the remote"

after 30min he said I'm will be charge for it!!

Looks like this is a scam and will not be ordering. Happy with my normal remote and saving the $49 for the Games in July-August.

How is it a scam? If you were offered a free remote and you filled out the form they will send you one

No, if you received an email offering you a FREE remote and you filled out the form, they will send you a FREE remote.

If you filled out the form and you hadn't been sent an email they won't send you a remote.  You can however fill out a DIFFERENT form and get a remote for $29

Isn't the real question here:

Why are some customers getting the e-mail offer and others are not?   Does anyone know what criteria Foxtel used to form this decision.

It leaves a sour taste in the mouth when you pay $130+ month after month, year after year, and don't get the offer.

Isn't the default option to not be auto-subscribed to all the email newsletters, so perhaps only ones who had opted in to receive them were selected.

Mine arrived yesterday, unfortunately it's a Philips remote which I don't think is programmable so it will be for show only...beggars can't be choosers though I guess

I filled out the online form to get the "free" remote without receiving an email, so I emailed foxtel and told them if I was going to be charged, to cancel the order.

Anyway, get a reply saying that I would recieve the remote in 10 working days, blah blah blah.

Remote turns up the other day saying a one-off charge of $49 has been added to my account.

So, emailed them back asking where to send it as I dont want it for $49. Get a reply stating a confirmation that I wont be charged, I'll let you guys know if it happens!

Got a Essendon remote in the post today, after using that weblink which was posted here a few weeks back, their was no mention of $49.95 on recent bill or on website, also called Foxtel about whether I would be charged for the remote, was told no, got it for free.

I  filled out the form, but didn't receive the email. Remote arrived today, nothing in the enclosed letter stating i had been billed and nothing charged to my account.
Looks like Foxtel are honoring  their original form and sending the remote to those that applied for it.

Same here.  Got the remote yesterday after filling in the form without the email.  Gotta love the info you get from dtvforum sometimes.
