LCD technology has improved but is still below what LCoS offered 5 years ago. Fill factor and native contrast are not good by today's LCoS standards and brightness is about the same when colour is calibrated for accuracy.

If warranty and price are more important than 2D picture quality the Epson is a good choice.

If 3D performance is important get a cheap DLP for 3D use.
