    • McDigital I'll take a look next time I'm in Nth Tassie.  Don't get up to the Illawarra much anymore sadly.
    • hmm some points imo:   budget: keep to your budget. you were thinking of 7.1.2 now considering 7.1.4 bigger/more expensive avr screen: be carefull or your screen will cost more than the pj pj: decide your level and stick to it. entry is not your level so a good mid will do a greta job.. have noted 2 models to consider earlier post seating.. if you want surround sound dont leave too small a distance for rears. 4.5m from screen will be fine and leave some room behind for decent rear placement. there is no need to go full on from the start before you even know what you like/want. many have bought new only to onsell (for a loss of 30-50%.. just look at 2 or 3 model old avr's etc for some big money drops ) for something that works better for their room/needs because they took their time. going .4 atmos is an example without even setting up the existing wonderful speakers %... spending say 25% here and 30% there extra to get 10-15% better sound/screen/pq etc is ok if you have the money and dont let your boss know how much it all cost.. :-)   room colour scheme... please do not allow white ceiling with white walls and white floor tiles.. check out others to see a darker ceiling and walls is fairly standard.. it is a ht room afterall...   sorry i hate being negative but sometimes too much positive spend spend can suck in even the best
    • Yeah considered both. The work involved in the AT screen plus the fact i want the speakers to be on display as such. Also considered the 2.35 aspect and considering a lot of my viewing is HDTV mainly sport watch a lot of Foxtel Movies, Fox Sports and ESPN all weekend there was really no need. I can handle the letter boxing for movies to ensure the majority is full screen. We watch a few movies a week but not enough to warrant it. I have the same idea on size. Considering ill be sitting 4.5-5m back i think 140" will work.
    • Once you get up to PJ's with lens memory, had you considered a scope, 21:9, screen. Also a AT screen has it's good points. I'm  a " get the bigest screen that will work " type. Had 92" 100" 120" and now a 128" scope. It don't take long and they don't look that big any more.
    • Thanks,  Ill have to see whether i can afford the upgrade to the JVC. It is a very nice projector. As for Atmos going to the 7.2.4 will mean i need an 11 channel amp or second amp and i don't have the budget so was thinking 7.2.2 would be good enough with the 9 channel amp. the plan was to have the centre channel tilted slightly to raise it to ear level.
