Mate you'll find they are exactly the same product ;)

I have a debut iii with acrylic platter and just upgraded to ortofon 2M blue as well.   While I am no expert in TTs you will probably find it a great entry level TT and it certainly sounds good - if I could do it again I probably would have gone to the expression model ($800+) which includes the acrylic platter and 2M red and also has a superior arm - not that I am disappointed at all with the debut iii. And even with the platter and 2M I am still ahead because I got the debut at under $400.  BTW that pic on the ebay page is of a project essential - inferior to the debut iii - definitely has a lower spec arm and the debut 3 uses a subplatter not a belt driven main platter.

Warps Gone ..

mainly with 180 gram re-issues , warps were starting to give me the sh*ts

so I got one of those stabilising rings

took me 2 hours to re adjust the tonearm/cartridge again :)

http://img233.images...6/img0255eh.jpg

the machine on top of my power supply , is an ionising generator that blows +ve and -ve ions on to the disc neutralising any static

BEFORE you laugh.....

in cold winter nights where there is No humidity  the static charge in winter was so large you could hear a large crackle as you lift the record of the platter. The static was also affecting playback

I later found out that a humidifier in the room removes static as well  <_<

sadly some of the crackle i was hearing on NEW Lps was bad pressings (non-fill/orange peel) rather than static

ive seen some vinyl at Vinnies /salvation army that looks like crap but plays beautifully

Conversely some of the new vinyl leaves a bit to be desired in terms of quality control

its an original pressing , sounds brilliant . Zero Surface noise

then again i was listening to an australian RCA pressing of david bowie- full of crackle (but it looked mint!). I think im gonna stick to Japanese vinyl if i can , it seems to be the most consistent.

this guy usually gets mint copies of The Wall from time to time
