Not with you on this mate we are only offering the TW 9000 .........

The latest review comparison has the Epson as the clear winner for me!

If there is the option for me to go with the TW9000w on the GB instead of the TW9000 if     thats what you guys are opting for then that would be a bonus but not a problem if not.

In most of the charts and reviews they have TW9000 and the wireless TW9000w Separate!
Different model numbers for different countries confusing!
Your right the 8000 refers to the UK 9000 and the UK 9000 refers to the 9000w in Australia!
I was wondering why no one wanted the wireless.

I don't think there is any TW9000 without wireless for Australia. If you look at the link in the original post it points to an Epson EH-TW9000W.

It's interesting reading these reviews. It's like - "there's always a bigger fish!" I enjoyed reading the "comparison review", and though I can see why the Epson may take the prize technically - and appears to be the long running champion for black levels, it's the little things like fan noise levels, the extra HDMI input, the case colour and the auto iris in 3D that have me interested  ^_^  I only want to upgrade so I can also enjoy 3D and want a dedicated input for my Oppo, Pana BWT800 and lastly - from the non V1.3 amp.

The review at projectorcentral.com mentions the 7000's light output as "sufficient to support a beautiful image on a ten-foot wide screen using Cinema 1 in eco
mode." also mentioning that the light levels watching 2D in "normal mode - cinema 1" was actually too bright and would be  "visually taxing for 2 hours straight".

My eyes are particularly sensitive to light, so I can only assume that the whole "lumens" thing, is about rooms with ambient light or large/wide screens.
Luckily, we have a room with no light and our equipment resides on the side of the room, so no optical distractions.

Really looking forward to seeing the Epson in action.

Hey Yorac how much longer are we looking for the price on these babies? Im hanging to either buy this or the panna....

Has anyone confirmed how good the epson's are for gaming, there have been a few reports that say the panna does pretty well for gaming.

I can see why Art likes the epson so much ;extra lumens is important especially with a larger screen . Ive read many think projectorcentral are biased towards pana projectors so its good to read a number of reviews as you say imho.

Quote

I do know that the Epson is pre-production while I'm not sure about the Panasonic (it was an open unit, but retail product was already shipping.) Pre-production units often measure a bit lower, but let's just say that the Epson, despite the higher lumen claim, didn't seem to be really brighter in 3D.Because the Epson projector is pre-production, if previous years are any indication, Epson will want to swap out this one for a full production one, and ask me to remeasure.

I think Art will be getting another production sample and it will really put the pana in the shade ;sorry Ruth couldnt resist ;that was crook  :) Both fine projectors and its the things like warranty  that influence me  ;)

Bhof ; try googling response time /input lag under 30ms seems to be adequate depending on FPS or other types ; video processing does no good it seems;

When I have it all will be advised via PM, there is nothing I can do to hasten that process, ultimately if that doesn't suit then you will need to look elsewhere but as stated there is nothing I can do to quicken the process........

like everyone else wish I did know, unfortunately given this is a brand new model just landing in the country the pricing process is taking longer than normal.......

be assured we are aiming for aggressive pricing for all as I do with any GB and in this case that unfortunately requires more patience than usual........ B)

Aspect modes such as vertical stretch or horizontal squeeze have nothing to do with lens memory - these are for use with an external a-lens.

Lens memory involves motorized zoom and focus to zoom in to fill a scope screen or zoom out to fill 16:9.  The "memory" is saving those physical lens settings to fill a scope screen.  As the epson does NOT have a motorized lens how can it have lens memory?

One Word:

bugger bugger bugger bugger!

But, I still going to get the espon.

Apart from fan noise level, connectivity, CFI and auto iris in 3D!
Interesting also looking at the pics on the comparison review. The ones of Captain Pike (look at the texture and weave in his yellow uniform) and the girl playing with the mp3 thingy (look at the letters in the blue circular background), have the Pana showing considerably more detail and a lot less "yellow/orange" in the skin tones! No mention of Epson eco mode under these pics BTW
I know that screen pics don't show alot, but you must admit, while the guy at Projector Central is pro pana - the guy at Projector Reviews is definitely pro Epson. He plays fantasy football too

To be fair the Epson has yet to be reviewed at projector central.
I would think its black level performance in 2D would impress any reviewer.
Art and like most people want better blacks in their visual av equipment. He makes this very clear. The better the PJ can do blacks hence higher contrast ratio's the more impressive the pq is especially for me in 2D which I do watch more of.

Seems 709er this may not be the PJ for you. May pay to wait for the next years model which probably will have similar features to the 7000 in 3d mode.
However bear in mind that people who actually own the 7000 on this forum noticed the image lacked  sharpness . This killed it for me.
Black levels in 2D are more important to me than in 3D . This is because 2D is my preferred viewing most of the time. 3D will be limited.
So I suppose as 3D is very important to you then the 7000 maybe all that you need. Art actually made the same point in his review.
And the fact the guy likes fantasy football well ..........so what.......... :P

Hello Yorac. I'm a long time reader first time poster at DTV forums. After many months of looking and pondering about which projector to buy (my first) I have decided at last to take the plunge and buy the Epson EH-TW9000W. Reading mention of a group buy grabbed my attention ,especially as the price is on my budget's upper limit. So would it be possible for me to participate or at least put my hand up as interested in this ? Thanks.

You'll need to go here and get your post count up to 5 before yorac can send you a PM when he has the group buy details.

Back after getting to 5+ posts (thanks Quark) . I remain very interested in a GB for the TW9000 W. :)
