Mine was approved on the 28th September and still nothing.

I see a pattern emerging though. I think Samsung have adopted a First In Last Out approach. :ninja:

Approved 27th September, just got the email today saying its been dispatched.
TV purchased early Sept.

Completely ridiculous.... there is no excuse for slow fulfillment. Don't these companies realise that they lose most of the goodwill they were seeking by denying their customers the full experience of their purchase?

And how dumb is Samsung with there latest promos. Giving a 3D player to customers who purchase a non-3D TV and no player to those that have? It's just gouging in the extreme!

Fair point. I wondered about that too especially the 3D Bonuses. They're essentially forcing the 3D customers to purchase a 3D player to play their 4 free 3D Blu-rays. Most people, arguably, will go down this road anyway but the point is they shouldn't really be forced. The 2D promo's bound to cause some confusion as well.

Don't misunderstand me..... I'm not angry and don't need to chill. It was late and I was tired. ;)

My point is that if companies are going to do redemptions, organise them properly, have the staff to manage them and send the goods promptly. My work colleague purchased some cycle goods from an Irish based website on Saturday morning and they arrived yesterday. If a retailer can organise to dispatch an order that quickly and get them half way 'round the world in 4 days, why is it acceptable for local redemptions to take 2-3 weeks let alone 2-3 months. Just because it's free doesn't make it right. That's all I was saying.

Companies use redemptions as a means of reducing cost. Why? Because it is pretty well a standard that 33% of purchasers don't submit their redemptions. And one of the reasons they may slow the process could be to discourage others redeeming. Hardly likely on offers this size of course but again, how long can it take to review an invoice, check the claim and send to dispatch????

PS... I am not waiting on anything. My BD player and glasses were handed to me when I purchased my Pana TV last month. Obviously that was not hard to organise but I note Pana are going with a redemption this month. But it sounds like they may be getting there stuff out in 2-3 weeks which is at least reasonable.

Only stirring ..  :)

Guessing Samsung is trying to do it on the cheap as much as possible.. bulk/ budget shipping and minimal staff.

I also considered buying the equivalent Panny but at the time there was still ~ 20% price gap between the two sets.

My Bonus finally arrived today.  This was my time line:

22/09    Initiated claim - first e-mail confirmation
05/10    2nd Update e-mail received
14/10    Approved / CC payment made
17/11    'Dispatched' notice (said allow up to 10 days as well.)
19/11    Delivered

I did contact them on the 15/11 asking where my already paid for gift was, but recieved no reply.    I don't know if it was a coincidence or not that two days later it was dispatched.

Very similar dates in my case too, and I received it yesterday, 1 day after it was dispatched.

I'd say it was a coincidence.

Now, I have the Player and another two sets of glasses, overall I now have seven pairs. Mmmm, are they worth selling on ebay?

Recieved the dispatched email last Friday 19th, Bluray + bonus pack delivered today, Monday 22nd.

Yes, it looks like they are catching up in a hurry. A mate of mine who purchased his TV 4 weeks before me got the dispatched email on Friday as well.

Arrived today.

No HDMI cable.

So got to see if i have any left.

Read the manual to see if HDMI 1.4 is needed.
Nope, just HDMI.

So tell me again why do we need HDMI 1.4 and what's all this hype about 3D BD players.
Seems to me all BD players are 3-D and one just needs a 3-D display.
What am I missing?

Had a demo of monsters v aliens today.  Looked fine but not like at the movies.  The picture seemed to have depth inward but nothing shot out.

I guess this is how its supposed to be?

Monsters vs Aliens is not really a good demo, there is much better demo material out there.

And you can get objects popping out of the screen, I have a demo where kids are shooting water pistols at you, and the water jumps out of the screen.

No, you don't need to do that.

Make sure you copy your receipt before you send the original though, even though I've received my redemption a while ago, I'm still waiting for the receipt to be returned ...

You just made me realise I did not get mine back either. Mine was so faint I don't think the copy copied. (If you know what I mean).

Received my 5900 yesterday. I'm impressed with the integration between the TV and the player, nice and easy to use.

Timeline was TV purchased 4 Oct, claim sent 11 Oct, approved 22 Oct, received 7 Dec.
