Hi guys am putting together an EOI on the Epson TW 9000, at this time just looking to see if there is enough interest to proceed with a GB, please post your interest and any questions here.......

no pricing will be given until I have at least 5 on board and as per usual all Australian stock and warranty............. cool.gif

I'm interested but it all depends on the price. It can't be too much over $3000 for me. Right now I'm considering the tw6000w and the ae7000 GB but I think I would probably prefer the tw9000 if the price was the same.

I was pretty much set on the Panasonic/group buy but I'm having second thoughts, I think the Epson will have a sharper overall more impressive image and the THX modes in 2D and 3D are really appealing, warranty also. Does anyone know if Epson did anything to prevent dust blobs? I know the new Panasonic made a new sealed light path.

None that I have found, I thought the usa epson version 5010e was = to Aus 9000w model but I bel that is wrong as the Epson 9000w has THX, the Usa model does not, according to projectreview. Link: http://www.projectorreviews.com/blog/2011/...eview-progress/

If you're referring to the warranty got this from epson australia website.

oops just realised you were referring to pro reviews. Me silly

There is a 6000 demo unit set up at Vaf. Had a look at lunch time and it was wirelessly playing tron legacy br movie. Man was I impressed. Image bright and very sharp and blacks looked great in the night scenes.

Just wondering hm better the 9000 would be?

I read that the CFI and Dync iris is only for 2D both are unavailable when viewing 3D which would = not so good blacks in 3D. Panasonic's has this feature why not Epson?

Thanks again guys with the good early interest here I will formulate a proposal to put to all within a day or two including payment options, shipping or pick up options, etc................

once again I ask that once a price is given it is kept fully confidential and also not used to go to retailers with either as this may jeopardise the GB going ahead.......... B)

I'm potentially interested subject to the final price (i'm on a tight budget) and depending on the prices compared to the Panasonic group buy.

Thing for me is I'm buying a projector within the next month or so, I want 1080p, 3D and ability to do CIH with one of mark's lenses.

I'm leaning towards the panasonic as I had the AE2000 until recently...and I've never owned an Epson projector yet so I have that fear of the unknown...hahah....but this does look like a good model...so could be prepared to make the jump...so if it's ok to just have provisional interest at this stage I'd like to be kept in the loop.

Seems our 9000 model is the equivalent of the pro cinema 6010 without the all black casing. I like this because it has the THX modes as well as 2 anamorphic lens modes V-stretch and H-squeeze so that 16:9 can be watched without manually moving the lens out of the way.

Yorac can you find out if the V-stretch mode can be enabled in 3D? :)

And from the 6010 userguide why does it say this?

"Note: When displaying 720p, 1080i, or 1080p signals through the HDMI or Component video

port, the aspect ratio is automatically selected and you cannot change it"

Does this mean I cannot use V-stretch watching blu ray over HDMI?
