Show Us Your Pics!

891 posts in this topic

I started this thread so that we can leave the "New Canon Goodies" thread for discussion of camera hardware.

We all have something that takes a photo. Be it a mobile phone, a humble point-n-shoot or a full blown DSLR costing mega-$'s they all take photos. What this thread is all about is giving you a gallery within which to display those photos that mean something to you.

You, or someone in your immediate family, must have taken the shot.

Sorry Ducky and Kaz, but shots of cats and other pets should not be posted unless they will mean something to other people.

To start:

From Al's post: "this one shot from the hip, caught the nephew trying to catch a bubble"

My feeble attempts from that thread:

Mulga Sunrise

"I love her wide horizons"

Hot hatch heaven

To those I'll add:

Seen better days

Now, over to you.

Had this guy keeping us company outside the front door for a while now.

Shot this a few weeks ago, shortly after starting to play with white cards and custom white balance for the first time. This was shot hand held, with only an energy saver light bulb in a frosted fitting, well after dusk. Auto white balance or available presets were waaaaay off the mark. Pretty pleased with the outcome - it ended up looking like it could have been broad daylight.

Entered this one* in a photo comp over on Whirlpool.

Needless to say I didn't win anything but I still like it....... :)

* was taken with an ancient Canon IXUS 30 (3.1 MP) P&S which is very much on it's last legs.
