I'm more than happy with my Pana and glad I got it when the Oppo was a buggy mess. But if you want Dolby Vision there's just no point in buying both. It's silly

It seems Samsung wants hdr10 plus to become a standard which is logical :)

Made available to third party companies in March of this year, HDR10 Plus is a form of metadata analytics developed by Samsung

so theres maybe an outside chance  pana will license it ....? no extra chipset like dv is a plus

$598 is still a great price ! only video pro has it cheaper by $3 !

probably can go to harvey norman if you like and they'll likely still tell you they can't do any cheaper than $899 :D they had it listed for some months ago hehe

I got my UB900 at under 600 from Good Guys. Admittedly that's at a special offer. But it was cheaper than $596.

Why would you get even the 400 for $499

im going to wait for the 400 to become available as from the reviews i have read it has a couple of potentially useful features not on the 700 and 900 range

Yes ; noticed the extra HDR daytime viewing preset button - that ticked me off a bit ;) At least we got the important stuff as Al said

Pretty sure that was in 1.73.

I wonder if that means MKV files with DTS will actually play with sound now. Hope so.

What would people actually change that to?

its the option to run 10 bit or 12 bit. I've left at 12 bit. it relates only to some older tellys that start banding when fed chroma upsampled material :)
