  1. Is it you leo? I haven't heard from you in ages! Hows things in Sa?
  2. I'm looking for a 5.1 system for around $1k so if you know of any excellent 5.1 speaker systems for around $1k please let me know Regards,
  3. I have a Pioneer VSX 919ah receiver already, just looking for some cheap speakers that sound decent to go with the pioneer Regards,
  4. Yes I will be able to run co-ax out to the sub
  5. Well I'd prefer to spend as little as possible, thats why Im considering the Logitech speakers which I can buy for under $300. My budget is up to around $1000 but value for money is also very important for me, would there be any 5.1 speakers for under or around $1000 that would be better value for money than these logitechs for under $300? Regards,
  6. To the Audio Experts I have a modest home theatre setup at the moment comprising of a Pioneer lx609a TV and Pioneer VSX 919ah AMP. I was wondering would Logitech Z-5500 speakers be good enough for a budget home theatre setup such as mine for a smallish space 3.5M x 4.5M? I was thinking of hooking up the Logitech Z-5500 speakers and sub directly to my Pioneer amp would this produce a decent sound for a budget home theater system such as mine? I'm running low on cash at the moment and I'm definately no audiophile and not looking for anything loud. Regards,
  7. Hey Owen maybe this is the time to replace your sony time bomb? or maybe not
  8. Not sure if this link has been posted before as I can't be arsed reading every page of this thread, but its a good interesting read for those who haven't read it already. Regards, Albert
  9. I like my deep blacks, but I'm against introducing artifacts or visual anomalies on some parts of my screen just so I can have a deeper black level on some other parts of my screen, to me its not an acceptable compromise but everyone is entitled to have their own preferences. Regards, Albert
  10. How does the black level on local dimming LCD's kick Plasma's butt? Last time I checked, blooming is still a problem on even the best local dimming LCD's. Regards, Albert
  11. Why is everyone complaining now about Panasonic's black level issues, when Panasonic have been falsely stating that all their NeoPDP's have contrast ratios of "2,000,000+:1 Dynamic Contrast (Native 40,000:1)" all along? Why complain when you've in some cases knowingly bought a panel that you knew does not live up to the manufacturers claims?
  12. Nah he's more like that whiny ****, Judge Judy.
  13. Have you looked up the word in the english dictionary yet? or are you about to give us some more mind blowing information that's been on the internet for over a year now?
  14. Mate, I think you need to go look up the word 'latest' in a dictionary as you don't seem to understand the meaning of the word. The use of the word latest in this case implies the most recent Pioneers plasmas manufactured, whether or not pioneer has stopped manufacturing panels is irrelevant. You probably have been living under a rock in recent times, as news of pioneer ceasing production of panels has been posted countless times on this forum already as you find it necessary to repeat it again.
  15. I guess sometimes you get what you paid for and sometimes you don't, though I'm not sure which category this one falls into, but it does seem to be a major issue for people who like their blacks, but then again if you really like your blacks you would of bought a pioneer in the first place. The latest Pioneer panels get deeper blacks as they age as opposed to the latest Panasonic's.
