  1. I played this card last night and it paid off - Refund processed and no need to send back the disc.
  2. Here's the email from Amazon US that I received today:
  3. Young Guns (Aus) PQ Video is unwatchable. I don't know what caused the issue, but it's quite obvious in the following screencap: http://www.hdimage.org/images/sc87rfq4255a...80918121031.png
  4. The content question is much more subjective, but I find the movies being screened on the movie network channels tend to be less frequently in HD and even less in 5.1 than Showtime.
  5. I've had this happen on terrestrial FTA before. I'd go with sirhc55's explanation, as in those instances, the SD channel (non-multichannel) audio was fine.
  6. I got mine from JB a week ago for <$25 - it has "sing-along version" plastered all over it, but as far as I can tell the sing along feature is just an optional extra that you need to switch on if you so desire.
  7. Yikes! You've either bought the forty most badly-mastered Blu-Rays or there is something wrong with your display. The only title I've got that fits your description is Young Guns (actually, it's worse than SD). Of course ultra hd is gonna improve movie presentation, but I think you'll find the visual discrepancy between 1080 and 4320 to be even less noticeable than the jump from 576 to 1080.
  8. Not true. I had access to all the new hd channels last night from around 11:30pm
  9. According to http://www.bluraychip.dk/, any shipped from them since Nov-1 have been the v1.1 variant.
  10. Isn't that the clone wars movie?
  11. I picked up a Pioneer 919 today at JB for $765 after simply asking for the best price. Seems nice so far - a bit more sophisticated than the old Pio 510 it's replacing
  12. It takes more (processing) time to decode each frame in a (relatively) high bitrate HD video than a low bitrate SD video. Perhaps the processing power in the stb just isn't up to decoding twice as fast as real time?
  13. Yes people are this stupid. I used to work in a retail outlet selling video games and had customers come up to the counter all the time with xbox games to play on their ps2 or vice versa. This despite the fact that one case was bright green, the other blue.
  14. I can vouch for this working!
  15. I first noticed the problem a couple of weeks ago. Thought it was isolated to just the Today show, but I noticed on the Shrek christmas special last night also. I see it on the foxtel retransmission, the built in tuner in my Pioneer plasma and the built in tuner in my LG Plasma.
