  1. what about the Pansonic St30 vs Samsung D8000? Which one is better? (and floating blacks DO and will annoy me).
  2. Does the Samsung 64" D550 or D8000 have the floating black issue that panasonic has? Because I have witnessed something similar on my Panasonic 50" px70a when playing back an xvid using my Panasonic Bluray player and it annoyed the crap out of me..... even though it was only for a second (but for some reason when i used my PC to play it back on the 50" it didnt have the problem). I would really like to buy a new bigger TV, but this whole floating blacks is just holding me back.
  3. Best price i got this was $1150 + $40 delivery from Bing Lee (that was a month ago, so im guessing its a tad lower now). EDIT: Some people are reporting sub $1000 prices for that tv.
  4. once you enter, how long do you have to send in your forms?
  5. $1,500 @ Bing Lee
  6. I have a 50" 70a. Inlaws have the 700a. The 700a has PIP. 70a doesnt.
  7. thank god i saw this thread! just purchased a tv (on behalf of my work) and i entered and won the camcorder now to figure out whether i should tell work
  8. Mate if you cbf'ed haggling then pay the price listed. If someone has achieved it, then you can set yourself that benchmark. Just walk in and tell the guy you want the TV, wait for them to give you a price and look uninterested. That normally gets a "well what price do you want it for" question. Tell them you got $x offered @ Bing Lee, and can he do better. Haggling isnt that hard, and you can normally figure out in 5 mins whether the store is prepared to do that price.
  9. Hey Damian if you're in Sydney, I've got a spare unused Criterion "The Edge" TV unit. It will fit up to 4 devices. It was purchased for $800 @ Bing Lee (2 weeks ago) Apart from me opening the boxes and screwing the base together, nothing else is used. Reason for selling: I bought it. Started to put it together. Wife said it was too big. Put it back in the box. It houses a 50" plasma nicely - my mate has the same setup for his Panasonic 50PX - I tried to do the same but got told off. Anyways, its annoying me that im not allowed to have it because the wife doesnt like it and its sitting in a box in my hallway. Selling it for $600 ONO and i can deliver it to you at no cost if you dont live too far away from me (hell ill even help you put the base together cos thats about as far as i got tongue.gif). Dimensions: 180w 52d 48h http://www.ozdesignfurniture.com.au/Produc...px?product=1615 http://www.criterionfurniture.com/product....amp;country=AUS http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtop...;p=1007202&

  13. For QQ Discounts check the back serial. If its been cut off and a new sticker placed over it, then its a usually a refurb or something similar. I bought about 6 Samsung 172x LCD monitors back in the day, they were all perfect and about 2/3's of the cost. They are still going strong till this day
  14. I found that 1024 x 768 works best on the 42" and 50" Ive tried running 1360 x 768 on a 50PX70a, and its horrible (even though its a much closer match to its suggested resolution), 1024x768 was stretched, but the clearest by far. Right click desktop and adjust your resolution.
  15. To clean my LCD computer screens i use the cloth + spray that comes with my glasses (from the optometrist). Seems to work well enough and doesnt leave any marks.
