G'day,

It's that time of year again, when we start cranking up the old Telle in the garage (In most cases, because the other half doesnt like footy) But this year, it's a little different, and in some ways easier to keep a broadcast guide, really there's only 4 channels to keep tabs of, those being Channel Seven, 7mate, Fox Sports 1 and Fox Footy

Let's start with this week's NAB Cup Matches, Round 1 will go for two weeks and involve 3 teams playing on the one night, much like last year

Friday Night: Richmond v Nth. Melbourne - First Bounce: 6:45pm AEDST
Played At: Etihad Stadium, Melbourne

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 6:30pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (6pm ACDST - 5:30pm AEST - 5pm ACST - 3:30pm AWST)

Friday Night: Nth. Melbourne v Hawthorn - First Bounce: 7:50pm AEDST
Played At: Etihad Stadium, Melbourne

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 7:50pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (7:20pm ACDST - 6:50pm AEST - 6:20pm ACST - 4:50pm AWST)

Friday Night: Hawthorn v Richmond - First Bounce: 8:55pm AEDST
Played At: Etihad Stadium, Melbourne

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 8:55pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (8:25pm ACDST - 7:55pm AEST - 7:25pm ACST - 5:55pm AWST)

Saturday Night: G.W. Sydney v W. Bulldogs - First Bounce: 7:15pm AEDST
Played At: Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 7pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (6:30pm ACDST - 6pm AEST - 5:30pm ACST - 4pm AWST)

Saturday Night: W. Bulldogs v Collingwood - First Bounce: 8:20pm AEDST
Played At: Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 8:20pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (7:50pm ACDST - 7:20pm AEST - 6:50pm ACST - 5:20pm AWST)

Saturday Night: Collingwood v G.W. Sydney - First Bounce: 9:25pm AEDST
Played At: Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 9:25pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (8:55pm ACDST - 8:25pm AEST - 7:55pm ACST - 6:25pm AWST)

Sunday Night: West Coast v Essendon - First Bounce: 4:45pm AWST - 7:45pm AEDST
Played At: Patersons Stadium, Perth

LIVE To:
Nationwide at 7:30pm AEDST on Fox Footy and HD (7pm ACDST - 6:30pm AEST - 6pm ACST - 4:30pm AWST)

If channel 7 have the same blurry broadcast as last year, again I won't be watching!

How about trying to have a little pride and quality in what you do 7???

Seven could'nt give a rats about quality. Mentality is they've paid so much for the rights that they are not obliged to worry about quality. What really pisses me off about 7 is the way they trumpet new game day technologies each year yet offer a standard def picture superimposed with a London fog. I wont be going near them this year - not a great fan of pay TV but if you want some quality pictures a Foxtel or Austar Sports HD package for about $80 a month is the way to go.

G'day DansDans,

Well, I dont think we'll need to worry about MainEvent, Channel Ten, WIN in Griffith or W.A. this year at all. Unless there's something unusual I dont know about

I'll be keeping the regionals list well informed, but this NAB Cup seems to be all Pay TV until the Grand Final, when the first Free To Air broadcast comes

I don't actually care about FTA TV sport, other than this year the only game I am watching on 7 is the Grand Final. Fingers crossed it is in HD too.

Maybe they still think no one knows the difference. On another forum some idiot posted that 7 was in HD on their new plasma!

G'day,

Interesting to note that Fox Footy's graphics are very much different to what Seven would have

If Seven get a clean feed from Fox Footy in those states where the local team is on Pay TV, wouldn't that score graphic look majorly out of place in the middle of the screen?

The graphics are very slick, didnt expect that from Fox Footy - the only issue is the font size is tiny

Rather it be small than too big, like the fox sports logo of last year.

Edit.. GO BOMBERS!!!!

I like how the 'Fox Footy' logo forms a part of the score, it's quite neat

Wheelz and McAudio,
i rang 3aw last week and asked the TV reporter for the age if 7 was doing the footy in HD.
The answer was NO :logik: :pinch:
So here we go again.
Paul.
Edit grammar.

How do you figure a TV "reporter" for the Age on 3AW would have any idea what Ch7 is doing?

Dan,let me expand on my previous post.
She emailed 7 last week and they informed her via email that they won't be doing AFL in HD.

I thought this was common knowledge? The five crappiest games each week will look great on Fox, the four best games each week and all of the finals will look terrible...and the AFL continue to claim that this is a wonderful result for the fans

7 might not be broadcasting it themselves in HD, but that's not to say their matches won't be filmed in HD...

I guess we'll know come round 1!

And that includes the Grand Final - what a friggin disgrace they are. Some of the blame must also fall on the AFL - the rights agreement doesn't stipulate HD so seven wont do it.

Its mindboggling - we go the whole year watching AFL hd on Foxtel including practice matches (NAB Cup) played before wifes and girlfriends, yet the big one is not in HD. Figure that out.

Some of you guys seem to have forgotten 7 last time had the GF they did their final series in HD inc the GF,it was only the replayed GF that they did in SD as the HD gear had already been sent to a prior commitment(cant remember what it was). I would bet my left nut this years GF will be in HD on 7mate.
