the only thing the D8000 has over the D550 and D6900 is the light filter. especially since the D6900 has the Anti-reflective coating, i would prefer the 59D6900 to the 51D8000 unless in a very bright room.

YMMV.

Hmm... $500 for a light filter. :-) I guess there is always the different aesthetics/styling.. but when you put it like that. Really, that's the only difference!?

thanks re: B&M, makes sense now!!

I reckon i might of been part of that group buy that IceMagic organized. I only just upgraded on the weekend from my 42inch Panasonic from the group buy to a Panasonic THP55SY30A Plasma for $1700. Couldn't be more happier with the TV.

Havent been here since days of the XBR in 2008. Anyway, if anyone wants to know, I just scored a UA40D6000 from JbHiFi for $650 cash. Price said $746 down from $980 and he took $650.

It's the only way I can get the main TV to myself. ;)

Otherwise, I would be forced to watch Glee.

Yes old and possibly dirty, but I want to keep it that way so no TV in the bedroom. ;)
