Thanks for a useful list. I am now trying to decide which ones to mark as skipped in my STB. Many of these channels appear to be broadcasting the same material, eg TEN, TEN 1, TEN 2, etc. But maybe they don't do this all the time? Is there a definitive list of the channels with distinctly different content?

If there are no sporting special events on, the non-duplicate channels for Sydney are: (If you are in another metro market, simply ignore the services starting with 4)

11. Ten VPG
12. Ten HD
20. ABC HD
30. SBS HD
31. SBS EPG
33. SBS World News

402: Federal Senate
403: House of Reps Main Committee
404: Fed Com 1
405: Fed Com 2
406: Fed Com 3
407: Fed Com 4

When special events are on, these also show non-duplicate content:
31: SBS Multiview (Uses the EPG channel)
71: Seven Statistics

Where duplicate channels exist, the one with the lowest LCN is shown on the above list. :blink:

I've updated the list adding screenshots to many of the channels, replaced 'EPG' with 'VPG', added LCN 77 (7 VPG) & 46 (ACC).

@Rochford

I'd add those, but checked just then, and no edit privs right now. Need to modify for D44 as well so we'll see when Coral adds this to the 'edit exclusion zone' for a lack of a better phrase. :P

Winston,

@Kenneth

It was on during a BBC programme on the ABC :blink:.

Hi Bacco, just a few observations :blink:
047 is currently the same as 40/44 however on a different encoder and has an APID.
100 is also the TEN EPG (VPG) rather than their normal SD service.
I've never received SBS Digital 3 or TEN Digital 4.

Winston, :P

Hi Jaybonzi,

I put 8x cause I didn't have any info on NBN and I just had to guess it, 'NBN Digital 2' is what I meant by 'NBN MV1' and I'll change it to the correct name & LCN now.

Its a bit rude that Canberra viewers don't get the Parliamentary channels - then again we have to put up with the a-holes in person so do we really need to see them on TV?

We do, if you have TransACT's fibre service + TransTV :blink: (which I don't. I have their copper service).

Anyway, why do we need to watch or listen to parliament.

How can anyone have any captures of the ABC VPG when it isn't going to air until MID-NEXT YEAR.

And I used to have captures of the extra camera angle channel (okay it was LCN 31 with a different picture/audio feed) that the soccer had but I lost them in a hard drive crash.

Since last Saturday, channel 7 has vanished from my Thomson DTI500AU STB, and it's showing channel 71 twice. Anyone else seeing this glitch?
