Out of five recent expedited BDs from Amazon, two have arrived on time (both Mrs Q's rom/coms :logik: ), the other three about a week late (two DHL and one with i-parcel).

Another "expedited" BD due in May turned up after 14 weeks - its replacement arrived a month earlier. :) DHL underperforms yet again - I groan every time I see those crooks named in a shipping notification.

I always chase a shipping refund so Amazon keep pressure on their unreliable shippers i.e. those ****s at DHL who are the very regular offenders.

+1
I generally fork out for expedited, but lately, the shipping times have been woeful and the tracking is no help at all.
I've had 4 shipping refunds out of 10 discs in the last 2 months. Hopefully, this won't continue, especially now that so many blockbuster films are being released in Australia almost simultaneously with the States (though I still am an advocate for US releases - almost always better).

Hmm ... I will have to check, but I suspect my Amazon US World War Z (expedited) is also late ... I think they are back to being just as slow as standard and not worth the dosh again

Arrived 30 mins ago ... so no refund for me.

anyone bought anything recently with expedited shipping??

i dont seem to get tracking with them now, i get an email sent saying when its due but no number or even which carrier is delivering very weird.

Example is this "Your package is being shipped by IPARCEL and the tracking number is ********. Depending on the ship speed you chose, it may take 24 hours for your tracking number to return any information."

Now i get "Depending on the ship speed you chose, it may take 24 hours for tracking information to be available in your account."

Tracking numbers are no longer sent via email, but you can still view the shipping carrier and tracking number, by checking the order details at Amazon web site.

When did delivery proces go up. Buying a few today and got a shock when I saw shipping. Used to be 1.99 per additional title under standard. Now it is 3.99 and there is an export charge also?

What is this?

I assume everyone is aware of the increasing push to have the $1000 import threshold reduced to $20 for the charging of GST? It's actually worse than the 10% for GST as they will stack on the 5% import duty at the same time. The Free Trade Agreement with the USA won't help if the items are not actually made in the USA.

I've already complained to my local MPs, both State and Federal. I pointed out the fallacies in their arguments of increased revenue (tax collections) and protecting local retailers;
Fallacy #1. The productivity review that resulted in the increase in the threshold from $400 to $1000 did so in recognition of the fact that it was costing more than they were collecting. ie; more than $60 ($400 x 15%). So any move to reduce it below that level would actually result in a net loss of revenue.

Fallacy #2. The price difference between overseas sourced and local is far greater than (10% + 5% =) 15%, in many cases it's over 300%. So adding 15% will make zero difference to local price competitiveness. The fact is wholesalers and retailers in Australia need to start buying from manufacturers at the same prices as everyone else in the developed world. Then they need to stop paying the ridiculous retail rents that Westfields and others charge. It's simply unsustainable. That's the real problem, it's sure as hell not us consumers avoiding the 10% GST.

So.....have you complained to your local member? If not then get on with it.

Cheers
Gary

anyone having issues with ordering 2day, tried to do an order shipping charge came out at just over 38 bucks only 4 items tho. Is there a glitch in their system at the moment or something cause i think its trying to change my expedited to priority shipping

according to my sums it should be this

9.99 + 2.49 x3 BDs + 6.49 for 1 video game = $23.95

Received my BF order with Star Wars Clone Wars Season 5 but shock to see it is DVD. Check my order and it is indeed DVD. I must be blind and $30 is not cheap at all. Thought of returning it but the cheapest postage option from Aus to USA is $14.10 so pretty moot in doing so.

You might want to hold off on buying Clone Wars S5 on BD for now anyway, there are some issues.
