The lady next door called me in because her Foxtel was not working.

She is 90 so i dont mind helping.

It turns out the select button on her remote has died so we rang Foxtel to get a new one sent out.

They informed us that the remote is not covered and she has to buy a new one from them $40 i think they said.

So when you rent their box only part of the equipment is covered.

This stinks .What rotten service to the customer.

If. It's out of contract, cancel it .... Then put it back on after they have the old remote back.

Thanks for the offer but she has purchased one. I hope someone from Foxtel reads this "Your customer service sucks".

It looks like they don't give a rats about your grandma.

Sad to see foxtel act like this, arnt they bleeding customers to the likes of netflix and stan?

I would have said F.U. There is an idea write to the abc Checkout and see what they say about it, might make you feel better.

P.s I would have asked to speak to retention's i think they are called and say you are pissed and cancelling.I know foxtel tries hard to keep customers and gives discounts.

As Mixo says, maybe just drop a note to The Checkout. The alternative would be to make a Statutory Warranty Claim (which Foxtel would almost certainly have to replace the remote under).
