For me both Bullock and Jolie have no place in sci fi. They are too famous for other genres.

I remember Sandra Bullock first in Demolition Man, which was Sci-Fi enough for me.

Really enjoyed it. The use of sound/silence was a highlight. Best simulation of space I've experienced. Not to say it was the best in space film I've seen. Just the way it 'involved' the viewer. Kudos to the director.

I have to say, despite seeing this at IMAX on a trip to Melbourne last year, the picture quality on the BR seems a little bit of a let down. Im not saying its bad, but it aint no Elysium either. Opinions?

I haven't purchased the 3D Blu-ray but I see it's at an unusually cheap price ($29.98) at JB, $5 more if you wish to have a metal rather than plastic Blu-ray case. For a 3D Blu-ray released so recently, and for a movie that was so well received by the public, it is amazingly cheap.

What aspects of the PQ, MarkH?

2D or 3D? Thought it was brilliant in 2D, MarkH.

It's brilliant in both.

Anyone questioning the PQ of Gravity are just making clowns of themselves.

Ralph Potts rates it 94 & 96 out of 100, which is reference, for the 2D & 3D PQ respectively, laughable when someone is questioning whether it's up to par or not.

I concur on the 3D, it;s the only 3D I have been able to get the wife to sit through, and enjoy!

Perhaps yorac should give it a try? LOL!

Have yet to rewatch this and will soon, didn't think the transfer was anything special.

That is not to say it was ordinary either, the scene where she surfaces towards the end is simply stunning imho.

Shhhhh Yorac is still coming to terms with the fact that the earth isn't flat, don't let on there is another dimension :purple:

I felt they could have done more with the 3D to get you immersed in certain scenes.

Watched some scenes of both the 2D and the 3D edition on a JVC X900. Maybe I was spoiled by getting to experience this on IMAX in Melbourne, but there "appears" to be excessive grain on this edition. I remember the IMAX edition being clean as a whistle! Ive got a mate with a copy, Ill try his for arguments sake in a few days.

I've got a lazy eye so I can't watch 3D, so I saw this in 2D and it wasn't anything impressive in 2D to me.
