Got Special Effects fatigue. Wonder why every movie these days has ten minutes of credits at the end. Are we really interested in who was the second crew principal drink provider.

Noticed it was directed and produced by the "Lost" crew.

Apparently it's the unions. They want recognition.

George Lucas apparently paid a hefty fan for not even including the opening credits.

Cheaper to buy it overseas, at this stage.

Think 'special effects' is correct. I first noticed with Starship Troopers (1997). Ten minutes of scrolling credits listing every software house team (and their drinks supplier) that had worked on some bit of the CGI. I suppose there's nothing forcing us to watch them (at least they're not listed at the start of a movie).

Regards

Peter Gillespie

Well I got it from Amazon UK, watched it last week in 2D, also watched the first couple of chapters in 3D. I should have done it the other way around but I wanted to hear the HD soundtrack. It's excellent in both versions in both PQ and AQ but I really need to get a BD player with two HDMI out so I'm not always cable swapping for my 3D discs.

Best Buy pretty much adjust prices in shelves for latest releases to match Amazon.

STITD was 17.99 plus tax on the shelf, exactly Amazon, although had to ask for WWZ to be price matched

Watched our US copy last night (it finally arrived).
PQ is reference (at least on our system).
So much detail and excellent contrast. Likewise, awesome AQ - though would have liked the centre channel mixed at a few more db's.
Really enjoyed it. A keeper for us.

Yes mine arrived also Ruth. This is literally non-stop action isn't it?

Sure is!
Nowhere near as good as the previous installment, but with such a great technical presentation, it is easy to overlook it's flaws.
