The Mystar unit gave the free to air channels as part of the package. If the IQ does not then Foxtel has wasted their money.Of course it will have all the features, and hopefully none

of the bugs the original Mystar had after its release !.

Not too sure if both boxes were made by the same manufacture? from memory I don't think so!!

cheers laurie

I agree the original Mystar units were @#%^ the Hd units were far superior, not that good though, I should have clarified that before.

Lets hope the IQ3 after all this time works!!

They are testing it with Android. LOL. Only kidding.

It doesn't work properly and they are testing and fixing it and retesting and fixing etc etc etc. Fairly normal point in a software/hardware development, especially something as complex as what Foxtel are trying to do.

The difference between the MyStar unit and the Foxtel IQ is that MyStar receives FTA channels over VHF and UHF using a conventional TV antenna. Foxtel's satellite IQ boxes only receive FTA via satellite, so if it's not on the satellite it's not on the iQ box.

I'd be quite happy to forego the iQ3 and have them allow the iQ2 to accept an external HDD. I'd have a 1Tb drive plugged in before you could say Series Link!

Lately we've been running into the 3 tuner limitation (watch 1 & record 2) a lot more frequently. The extra tuners in the IQ3 would be helpful.

Cheers

Received this email from Foxtel today:

We know that you’ve been waiting patiently to get your hands on the iQ3, so we just wanted to let you know where it’s at. You’ll be excited to hear that we’re finishing up a few final details and it’s on track to arrive in February 2015.

We’ll keep you posted so you’ll know when it’s available to order.

Until then,

The Foxtel Team

D.

According to reports this morning iq3 will be $150 upgrade fee and the same ongoing fee as iq2. Seems reasonable to me given the investment foxtel have made in the product. Que the whingers.

Would have been good if a few long term customers received Xmas present of a IQ3 just wait the FREE IQ3 to entice new customers

I think $150 is reasonable as the mystar hd cost to upgrade.

Also the word is cue not spelt (que).

CUE. (General) Tapered device, usually wooden, used to strike the cue ball to execute carom or pocket billiard shots. (Also called cue stick)

CUE BALL. (General) The white, unnumbered ball that is always struck by the cue during play.

If you check cue is what actors on stage use to know when they have to do something, eg some one is shot, cue some one to rush in to help

this is the correct deffinition for this in this situation.

Now lets get back to the subject of IQ3 being ready by February.
